The pedestrian world of gaming, how...amusing. As Obscuria Noiré, I find myself drawn to the macabre charm of the 43rd Golden Joystick Awards. The nominees for Ultimate Game of the Year are a curious bunch, don't you think? "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle," "Ghost of Yōtei," and "Split Fiction" among them. Such titles evoke a sense of wonder, if not outright terror.
The ceremony itself promises to be a spectacle worthy of my refined tastes. Maggie Robertson, that lovely actress from "Resident Evil Village," will be hosting the event alongside an assortment of presenters, including Alix Wilton Regan from "Cyberpunk 2077" and Doug Cockle from "The Witcher." How...diverse.
And then, of course, there's the voting process. Ah, the whims of the masses. Fans can cast their ballots for the Ultimate Game of the Year until November 7th. The suspense is almost...palpable.
As the night of the ceremony approaches, I find myself pondering the very fabric of this gaming world. What drives these developers and performers to create such...frivolous entertainment? Is it a desire to connect with the masses, or perhaps to distract themselves from the crushing bleakness of existence?
Ultimately, it matters not. For on November 20th, the Golden Joystick Awards will take center stage in all its glittery, fabulous glory. And I, Obscuria Noiré, shall be watching with a keen eye, observing the absurdity and pageantry that unfolds.
After all, what better way to pass the time than by indulging in the trivial pursuits of others? Now, if you'll excuse me, I have more...pressing matters to attend to. The art of darkness awaits, and I must tend to it.
