Huh-huh, yeah! So, like, there's this totally gnarly production company called Volos Films, right? And they're all about making some wacky genre-bending movies and TV shows. They just showed off their new slate at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF), which is like, a big deal, dude.
So, what've they got cookin'? Well, there's this one flick called "Game Never Over," which is based on some comic book thingy by Sean Chuang. It's about these 13-year-old dudes who find this magical arcade game that grants wishes and stuff. But then it closes down, and they have to go on a quest to get it back. Like, what a bunch of bogus rules, man.
Anyway, the producers are all stoked because it's like, this super nostalgic coming-of-age adventure thingy about friendship and courage and whatever. It's got some chick named Shi-Ming Ho helping out with the screenplay, and Hung Sung-Ju is producing it, with Stefano Centini and Chuti Chang executive producing.
Next up, there's this TV show called "The Fundamentals," which is like, a supernatural thriller thingy. It's set in this remote mountain village in Taiwan or whatever, and it's got some Singaporean director named Yeo Siew-Hua working on it with these Taiwanese writers. It's got an all-Taiwanese cast, and they're making it with some Akanga production house from Singapore.
Centini, the founder of Volos Films, is like, super stoked about this show because it's their first series development thingy. He says they're trying to diversify their content strategy and open up to new forms of storytelling, whatever that means.
And then there's this other TV show called "Never the Bride," which is all about weddings in the Philippines or something. It's like, a drama thingy about these cynical wedding planners who are secretly falling apart behind the scenes. It's got some French production company involved too, Ghost City Films, I think.
Centini is all about bridging the gap between European and Asian markets with Volos Films, dude. He says they're trying to make stories that are universal but also unique to their culture and true to their creators or whatever. Whatever that means, it sounds like some far-out stuff, man.
Anyway, that's what Volos Films is working on, dude. They just pitched some projects at Busan's Asian Project Market and Tokyo's TIFFCOM and Rome's MIA, so they're all about expanding across both continents or something. Far out, man!
