Oh boy, folks! We've got a doozy of a celebrity split on our hands! Frankie Muniz, aka the lovable goofball from Malcolm in the Middle, has announced that he and his wife Paige Price Muniz are calling it quits after 10 whole years of marriage. Yeah, you read that right - 10 years! That's like, an eternity in Hollywood years!
So, what happened? Well, Frankie took to Instagram (because where else would a celebrity go?) to share the news with his adoring fans. He posted a photo of the happy couple and their adorable son Mauz, along with a lengthy caption that's just chock-full of feels.
"Following a period of separation that we kept private, Paige and I have decided to move forward with ending our marriage," Frankie wrote. "After 10 beautiful years together, we've grown in ways that made us realize our relationship feels most natural and strong as a deep friendship and as co-parents."
Aww, how sweet is that? You'd think they're just a couple of amicable exes who are still on speaking terms, right? Wrong! According to Frankie's caption, Paige has been an absolute rockstar throughout their marriage. She put her own dreams on hold so Frankie could chase his, and she was always his biggest supporter.
"Paige is endlessly grateful to me for everything I've done for us and our family," Frankie wrote. "She put her own dreams on hold so I could chase mine, and she was always my biggest supporter."
Now, that's what I call a true #RelationshipGoals! Too bad it didn't work out in the long run.
But don't worry, folks - this isn't a sad story (well, not entirely). Frankie and Paige are choosing to focus on the positive and move forward as co-parents. They're even excited to keep building their business together, Muniz Racing!
"We're closing one chapter with gratitude and opening the next with bright futures ahead, for us as individuals and especially for our son," Frankie concluded.
Aww, yeah! I guess that's what they mean by "amends"!
Now, before we get too caught up in all the feels, let me give you some quick background on this power couple. Frankie and Paige met back in 2016 (what a meeting that must've been!) and got engaged in November 2018. They eloped in October 2019 and tied the knot in February 2020.
Paige, being the former model she is, was working as a golf network presenter when they first met. And Frankie? Well, he's just a regular guy who happened to star in Malcolm in the Middle.
The two of them also had their own olive oil shop in Scottsdale, Arizona (because, priorities!) before selling it off in 2019.
And did you know that Paige used to run her own artisan specialty foods shop called Pog and Mauz? Yeah, I guess that's what happens when you're a model-turned-golf-presenter-turned-foodie!
Anyway, back to the split. So, Frankie initially shared an announcement video featuring himself, Paige, and their adorable son Mauz dancing together to We the Kings' "Check Yes, Juliet." At the end of the video, he pretended to play Mauz like an air guitar (because, priorities!). But then he deleted it because, well, people can be pretty cruel sometimes.
Paige, being the sweetheart she is, came out in defense of her hubby and their son. She wrote a heartfelt comment saying that they're two adults who know how to be on the same team, even if it means going through tough times like this.
And there you have it, folks! The Muniz family's journey from happily-ever-after to amicable co-parents. Who knew?
