Snoopy's Cool-Kid Cred Soars

Snoopy's Mainstream Makeover: The Iconic Character's Rise to Cool-Kid Status

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is just around the corner, and this year's festivities are shaping up to be the most epic yet. As part of the parade's 100th anniversary celebrations, Macy's has announced that Snoopy's laid-back alter ego, Joe Cool, will be taking to the skies alongside Woodstock in a brand-new balloon design. But Snoopy's cool-kid cred isn't just limited to the parade – the beloved character is having a major moment in the mainstream.

For starters, Snoopy has been rocking the coffee shop scene with Starbucks' latest limited-edition merchandise. The $40 Snoopy Glass Cold Cup is a must-have for any Peanuts fan, featuring the character wearing an orange beanie and green scarf. And if that's not enough, Snoopy has also inspired his own drink at the coffee giant – the Snoopy Cookie Frappuccino. This creme-based drink is a game-changer, featuring vanilla bean and white mocha sauce, pumpkin spice cold foam, and cookie crumbles on top.

But Snoopy's mainstream makeover isn't just limited to the coffee shop. Macy's has announced an exclusive Peanuts capsule collection, featuring brands like Timex, BaubleBar, Lenox, Loungefly, Super7, and Woobles. The collection is available on the Macy's website and will be available in stores later this fall.

And if all that isn't enough, a new "Snoopy in Style NYC" exhibition has just opened its doors in Manhattan. Located at the Peanuts showroom, the exhibition features one-of-a-kind Snoopy and Woodstock dolls dressed in custom designer creations, a gift shop, and archival pieces from Charles M. Schulz' career. The free exhibition is open through September 26.

As Snoopy continues to soar to new heights, it's clear that the character is more popular than ever. But what's behind this mainstream makeover? Is it the character's timeless charm, or is it something more?

Macy's hasn't announced any new floats yet, but with the parade just around the corner, it's only a matter of time. In the meantime, Snoopy's cool-kid cred is sure to bring the heat to the parade.
