The Farnborough International Airshow 2026: Ontic's Chief Executive Jean-Christophe Gallagher Outlines Ambitions for Aerospace Parts Specialist
At the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, Ontic's newly appointed chief executive Jean-Christophe "JC" Gallagher delivered an unequivocal message regarding his strategic vision for the aerospace parts specialist. The executive's inaugural six weeks in office were marked by a thorough immersion into Ontic's operations, with Gallagher personally visiting the company's 10 facilities and engaging with employees across the global organization.
Ontic, a stalwart player in the industry, boasts an impressive workforce of approximately 2,000 personnel, dispersed across five sites in the United States, four in the United Kingdom, and one in Singapore. The company's prodigious output comprises thousands of line replaceable units, strategically positioned to support more than 50,000 aircraft worldwide.
Gallagher's candid assessment of Ontic's strengths underscored his deep admiration for the organization's collective expertise, talent, and culture, which he perceived as a defining factor in the company's success. "I've been so impressed by the level of expertise in this company, by the talent, and by the culture that's been built of everybody working together for our customers," Gallagher declared.
Ontic's unique business model revolves around acquiring or licensing established product lines from major aerospace original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), subsequently assuming responsibility for their continued manufacture and long-term support. This strategic approach has enabled Ontic to diversify its portfolio, with a roughly even split between civil and military aviation. This dichotomy presents opportunities for growth across both markets, further solidifying the company's position as a stalwart player in the industry.
Gallagher emphasized that Ontic's expansion is underpinned by the trust it has developed with OEM partners, coupled with its ability to provide critical components for both aircraft production lines and the aftermarket. In a departure from his predecessor, Gareth Hall, who moves into the role of executive chairman after more than a decade at the helm, Gallagher brings with him a 20-year tenure at Bombardier, where he most recently served as executive vice-president of aircraft sales and defence. This wealth of experience has undoubtedly prepared Gallagher for the challenges that lie ahead.
