I'm sittin' on my porch, sippin' sweet tea, and thinkin' about this news that's got everyone in a tizzy. Now, I ain't one to get too worked up over nothin', but this is somethin' else.
Seems like the President of the United States has gone and done it again. This time, he's decided to take on them fancy-pants climate scientists who say we're runnin' out of time to save our planet from all the pollution and whatnot. Now, I'm no expert, but even I know that the earth is gettin' mighty warm in the summer months.
Anyway, this President fella has taken it upon himself to reject the findings of them scientists and say that climate change ain't no big deal. He says we've got more important things to worry about, like jobs and the economy. Now, I'm all for creatin' jobs and growin' the economy, but you can't have your cake and eat it too.
Seems like this President fella is tryin' to be a one-man show, makin' decisions left and right without listenin' to nobody else's opinions. I mean, what's the hurry? Why can't we just take our time and figure things out like civilized folks?
And then there's them politicians who are always yappin' about how they're gonna change the world, but they don't actually do nothin' to make it happen. They just keep on talkin', makin' promises they ain't got a prayer of keepin', and expectin' us regular folk to believe 'em.
I'm reminded of that time I went runnin' across the country, from Alabama to California. Took me three years, but I did it. And let me tell you, nothin' gets your blood pumpin' like seein' some new sights every day. You meet all sorts of folks along the way, and sometimes they're nice, sometimes they're not so much.
But that's beside the point. The point is, we gotta start thinkin' about our planet and what kind of world we want to leave for our kids. Can't just keep on burnin' fossil fuels and pollutin' our air and water. That ain't the kinda legacy I want to leave behind.
Now, I know some folks might say, "Forrest, you're just a simple fella from Alabama." And they'd be right. But sometimes it takes someone like me, who don't got no fancy book learnin', to point out what's important and what ain't.
So here's the deal: we gotta start takin' care of our planet, and we gotta do it now. We can't just keep on waitin' for some other guy or gal to come along and fix things. We gotta take charge and make some changes. And if that means makin' some sacrifices along the way, then so be it.
That's my two cents. Take it or leave it. I'm done talkin' about this stuff.
